<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">...But back to the past couple of weeks.
The next night, Friday September 7th, went back out to another club
called Morrison’s II (which is full of drunken students from different
Universities haha) where I had fun dancing once again with the two French guys
but this time the Spanish guy, Canadian guy and a Spanish couple came along as
well. It was a total blast and I really enjoyed hanging out with these people.
Becoming better friends with them as well, the longer I hung out with them
(well minus the Canadian guy…he gave me the creeps).<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And Saturday, I don’t remember what I
did as it has been a few weeks since then. But Sunday the two French guys left
which was a bummer because they were a fun pair to be around and talk with as
they were really funny. But Monday, the 10th of September, the first
day of classes started. I was definitely nervous as hell because who wouldn’t
be when studying in a foreign country and you don’t know the language…at all. I
am learning day by day though. But I only had one class that day so it wasn’t
too bad. The class is called International Relations from 1945 to present. I
wanted to take this class because I don’t really know a whole lot about IR in
the first place as it isn’t really talked about in the United States unless you
are in specific courses that deal with IR issues and what have you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Tuesday is my longest day of classes as
I have three classes but two of them are lecture and seminar classes. So the
first class I have is called History of Modern Europe which I have at eight
o’clock in the lovely, early morning. And after that is seminar but there is a
fifteen/twenty minute break so can get something to eat or go to the toilet
(which is ni~ice haha). I really like this Modern Europe course because it is
talking mainly about issues that deal with Hungarian history and countries
surrounding Hungary. Hence why I am taking the course since history is one of
my favorite subjects. I have a break through lunch time so that gives me some
time to eat food which is dearly loved. After lunch is my Introduction to
Civilization which I found out is a requirement class for all incoming, you
guessed it, freshman. So about three quarters of the students in that class are
either eighteen or nineteen years old…And are still high schoolers in my mind.
They just yap away, not caring what the Professor is talking about. It’s like,
if you’re going to talk during class, sit in the back of the room so I don’t
have to listen to your bullshit when I’m trying to learn something interesting.
And this class is really interesting because Civilization through the ages has
always been a sore subject considering that colonization has not always been
kind to those who were thought to be uncivilized. After this class is my
British Civilization class which I have learned that the United States teaches
jack-shit of British history. I only knew one or two questions out of the ten
or fifteen the Professor asked the first day. So I am definitely going to like
this class. The Professor is also making the native English speakers do
presentations but I have to remember to speak slowly so people can understand
what I’m saying considering that the majority of the people in the class are
not native English speakers…Native, native, native (need to stop saying that
haha). So I get to do a presentation about Education in the US and in
Britain…more specifically on Universities in the United States. But I need to
ask the Professor if I can ask the students what they want to learn about so it
will be easier to focus on that then me trying to figure out what would hold
their interest in such a boring presentation I’m sure.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">But after that class is the seminar for
my Civilization class which doesn’t get out until six o’clock in the lovely
evening. So I’m pretty much at school for the whole day. Which isn’t bad or
anything, it’s just a really long day. Then on Wednesday, I have my Hungarian
language course which is definitely nice but I really have to practice,
practice, practice my Hungarian because I have a really hard time remembering things.
So I have repeat words over and over again so that I remember them otherwise I
won’t be getting anywhere in this class. And I’m glad that I’ll be having it
for a semester and hopefully I’ll be able to continue learning next semester as
well. After this class is, finally one of my Sociology classes, Trends in
Sociological Theory which I have deemed to be very interesting. Not just of the
subject of the course but because I can sometimes not understand the Professor.
Why? Accent. It’s sometimes hard for me to understand the words he is speaking
because he pronounces them differently than what I have heard or know, or I
just can’t understand what he is saying. Hah! But so far, so good.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">On Thursday, I don’t have a class until
2:50pm which is my other Sociology class called Social Problems in the Media
which is going to be a piece of cake as it is not anywhere near the difficulty
level of the courses back at my home University. But in this class we get to do
a presentation and I’m doing mine on, with two other girls, sports! And we can
use any media forms to present sports and how people view them. Or something
along those lines. I wanted to do sports considering how huge they are in the United
States, especially football (which obviously is going on right now). And after
Thursday, I have my lovely weekend until Monday when I have class at 1:10pm.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">That weekend, I can’t remember what I
did but I probably went to the Great Market Hall that is right next door to my
University to get fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and bread. And after that I
went back to the hostel to hang out with the people I know since there is a bar
on the ground floor (hostel is on the second and third floor) and we can chat
for quite a long time there without people being annoying.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1nk4_n7qsMM/UG7sL1oUVDI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/XWFhlUM1b_c/s1600/P9210168.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1nk4_n7qsMM/UG7sL1oUVDI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/XWFhlUM1b_c/s200/P9210168.jpeg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Then the second week of classes came to
be and I realized I really need to go about getting all my paperwork together
so I can go to the Immigration office to apply for my Visa…which I need before
thirty days. So I had to get some paperwork from the guy that’s between me and
my landlord. I guess he would be called the property manager but in any case,
he’s super nice and his wife is his partner in the business who is super nice
as well (and they both speak lovely English, yay!). Then on Thursday, September
20th, I finally was able to go to the Immigration office. And I can
now officially compare it to the DMV back home in the states. Why? Because you
get a number and then you have to wait forever until your turn. I waited for
about two hours before my number was called and it only lasted for about ten
minutes. Hah! Though I did get lost trying to find my way there but I did find
the damn building. And now I have put in my Visa request and I will be sorely
pissed if I’m not granted my Visa. But I have an appointment to go back on the
5th of October and by god, I better have the damn thing. And then on
the 21st, I went to this exhibition called “The Invisible
Exhibition” where one was able to experience the life of a blind person. It was
very liberating and mind numbing to be able to understand how people who cannot
see anything are able to live day by day and be able to do the things that
people who sight take for granted. Like dodging people when you see them coming
or moving out of the way of a bike when it’s coming straight towards you. There
are just simple things that we people with sight take for granted. And if we
ever lose it, it would take a very long time for us to adjust to being blind
and knowing that being able to see is something of the past.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And then on the 22nd, I went
to a chocolate festival that was being held at the Buda castle and man, did I
get some chocolate. I have about a year’s supply now…though I’m sure it will
last me until Christmas *grins* It was a lot of fun and I still can’t believe
how many booths there were selling chocolate of all varieties and how I really
wanted to buy them all but obviously can’t considering that it would be
extremely expensive. Haha But I had a ton of fun and now I’m happy to say my
chocolate cravings will not expire for the whole time I’m here…as European
chocolate (especially Belgian and Swiss) are freaking delicious!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Starting on August 28th,
2012, I left Sacramento, California and headed towards Budapest, Hungary where
I will be studying for a school year. I flew from Sacramento to Washington D.C.
and that was a very interesting flight because it is a four hour flight over
the United States and I had a window seat…which was nice and the girl I was
sitting next to was super nice but the guy at the end (sitting next to her) was
kind of creepy and if I remember right, smelled. But besides that, I got an
hour of sleep or so, so that was definitely a nice touch. Haha<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And let’s see, oh! I arrived at
Washington D.C. airport and waited for a couple hours but then learned that
United was having issues with their computer system so had to wait another
hour. And then finally, got onto the plane and was on my way to Budapest. The
flight took about 8 hours and loved the people who were sitting next to me. I
was sitting in one of the middle chairs as there were four people there. And on
either side of us were two people (by the windows I mean). The person to my
left was a girl who is teaching English in Turkey. She was a lot of fun to talk
to and I definitely learned a lot about wanting to teach English. I have been
thinking about going to a country to teach English but I’m not sure yet.
Depends on how I feel after being abroad for a year without being able to be
home and physically being around family and friends.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The guy to my immediate right was going
to Florence (if I remember right) to study there for a year for his Masters in
Architecture (or historical architecture or something like that). He was fun to
talk with as well because I learned about what he wanted to do, where he wanted
to work and what he was planning to do while being in Florence, France. And
then the guy sitting next to him was going to Poland for three weeks…why?
Working for the Department of Defense to dig up historical remains during WWII
and there was something else as well but I can’t remember what all it was. It
was really interesting to talk to him and made me want to work for the
Department of Defense<a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7042040116026798805" name="_GoBack"></a> just to be able to
travel…seriously. And everything is paid for.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">So, after a long 8 hour flight, which I
think I got like 3 or 4 hours of sleep, arrived in Munich, Germany with about
two hours to wait until my flight to Budapest. It was really interesting
because I didn’t have to fill any paperwork out or anything; just had to go
through passport control and I was on my way to boarding the airplane. And that
flight was only about an hour or so…hour and a half maybe? I don’t remember. It
was a really long day. So I arrived in Budapest, Hungary August 29</span>th<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">,
2012 at around 12:30pm. And then I had to wait for my luggage (one big ass
bag), get a shuttle to my hostel and then go up two flights of stairs to the
third floor (they call it the 2</span>nd<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"> floor since US 1</span>st<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
floor is their ground floor. Yes confusing I know). So finally got settled in
the hostel Casa de la Musica in an all 10 girls dorm…which sucked. I hated the
hostel that first day because I was so new to the country and I really wanted
to go home. That night I met up with the other student from my University and
we talked about our fears and doubts which really did help me. We also had our
first pizzas here which were alright. They weren’t bad or anything but
definitely not the best that I’ve had here too. After that, went back to my hostel and was able to go to
sleep (even if it was freaking hot). The next day I was able to move into a
four, coed person’s dorm which made me happy as it was a lot better than living
in a room with nine other women (who I seriously think were all younger than
me). That morning, as I was eating breakfast (ate oatmeal that I had brought
with me as I didn’t know where to go to get food yet), I met a guy from Germany
and learned he was there on vacation with a friend. I also met three girls from
France, one girl from Germany and another from Portugal that I hung out with a
couple times and even went to my first club with (yes, I’m 23 and first time
ever been to a club and since there was a bar there, second time ever been to a
bar. Sad? Not for me haha).</span></div>

the other person from my University and I went out </span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">exploring and I can’t for
the life of me remember what we did. Ahaha And I think Friday night (can’t
remember what I did during the day), I went out with the two German guys to a
place where they wanted to eat something and I was able to get to know them
better. They definitely were fun people to talk to and the younger one of the
two was very entertaining and kept telling me all these random facts about
Germany. Like the political situation and the red light district. Haha!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And then Saturday I was checking out an
apartment to see if I wanted to rent that place but I didn’t like it. It was
too small and there were some other things about it I also didn’t like. I was
also going to go on a bike tour with the two German guys I befriended and one
of the bar tenders from the hostel as she is a registered tour guide but then it
started raining. So the three of them moved it until Monday which I was totally
ok with. After that decision, the guys wanted to go to a mall so we walked to
the mall and hung out there during the afternoon. It was a lot of fun even if
it was muggy and sticky (damn humidity!). Then during that night, I went to
dinner with the four girls and met a guy from Holland (who spoke English
without any accent; weird!) and it was definitely an interesting adventure to
say the least. Haha! After dinner, they wanted to go to a club (yes, the first
one I ever been too) and so I just went with them as I have never been to one
before and wondered. It was…definitely an interesting experience to say the
least. I found out I like dancing to music where no one gives a shit that you
can’t dance worth shit. Haha! Because there are other people just like you;
sober <b>and</b> drunk. Didn’t so much like
it because of the company but it wasn’t too bad. There were two other times
after this that I liked better *nods head* Yup. Definitely a lot better. Had a
couple hot guys to be around *waggles brows*<o:p></o:p></span></div>

I went on the bike tour to the Fisherman’s Bastion, </span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">Matthius church and Buda
Castle which was a lot of fun, even if it was super warm and my back was
sweating like crazy because I was carrying my back pack. But hey! A 1.5 liter
of water is important! Oh..and I got to carry a bike up quite a few stair
cases. Yes, that was loads of fun. And my butt hurt after sitting on the bike
seat because I’m used to bikes with more cushion. But in the end, the tour
guide was awesome (became friends with her and she’s helping me learn Hungarian
and what not) and told us about a lot of history of the different places that
we saw. Then…that night I had my first shot. Ever. It was of Palinka, famous
Hungarian liquor that anyone coming to any part of Hungary has to try. Really.
It’s awesome stuff. The next day though the two German guys left for home. I
was kind of bummed but I met two French guys later that night who were staying
in the same hostel room as me *waggles brows*</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And let’s see, Tuesday I can’t remember
what I did. I think I went out and bought a phone with the guy who came with me
from my home university. And the two French guys left Wednesday morning but
came back Thursday. And then Wednesday I got the SIM card that I can use here
in Hungary and be able to call/text people here since the international rate
for my phone from the states would be really, really expensive. And Wednesday
afternoon, there was a tour of the Buda side that was put on by my school so it
was kind of nice being able to meet other students from my school considering I
had already heard about the information of the castle. Then Thursday night, I
met a Spanish guy and a Canadian boy (I’ll call him a boy because he was only
21 haha) and along with the two French guys we went to a bar. And there I
talked with the two French guys at the bar, Szimpla and then they wanted to
move onto a club called Instant Club (the Spanish and Canadian guy went back to
the hostel)…which I got to say was a lot more fun than the time I spent with
the girls at the other club. I really did enjoy myself though as the
night/morning wore on, the more tired I got and I wanted to come back to my
apartment and sleep…And yes, I got an apartment Thursday and was I happy!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Do I mind? No, as long as the hero is written in a positive light. LOL. But seriously, she has told me time and again that she gets inspiration from me, our relationship and the things we’ve been through over the past 25 plus years.</span></div>

<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">A few years ago, something new was put on the table. My wife decided, or should I say got interested in the threesome genre (Ménage a` trois), and the lifestyle. She asked one day: “Who are these people that participate in this?” </span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">For those of you that already know I’ll retell the story. For those that don’t, sit back and relax.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">She did some research some years ago by going to an adult book and video store. She wanted to really know the ins and outs of a threesome and try to understand the mindset and people involved. We went with a mutual friend of ours, a man I’ve know for over 35 years and I introduced him to Stephanie about the second year I knew her.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">The trip was very interesting. She was embarrassed going there and wore dark glasses and headscarf which drew more attention to her. LOL.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">She looked high and low for the dvds that she wanted. She had to have dvds that featured a black woman and two white men. My friend and I thought we would mess with her; it was too good to pass up.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">The store clerk did find a few videos, but there were no documentaries about the ménage lifestlye. They were porno, plain and simple. Please don’t ask me the names, I couldn’t tell you with a gun to my head. I think she bought a few books on the subject matter too. Where they are now, I couldn’t tell you that either.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">After she rented the vids and bought the books, we went to an all night diner. This is when my friend and I decided to really mess with her.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">My friend made a pass at her, hinting heavily that she shouldn’t just rely on a video, that maybe he could help. I joined in this play too. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">Stephanie’s face dropped. LOL</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">We could have let her off the hook, but we were having too much fun watching her get nervous. We literally continued this for weeks afterwards. She didn’t know if we where playing or not. Neither one of us physically did anything to her—at least not at the same time. WINK. But it was enough to confuse her and watch her squirm a bit.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">Later, after we watched these bad films, read the books and messed with her some more, Stephanie started writing her first threesome story. She didn’t have a title yet and wasn’t sure if she was going to publish it. She said she was just dabbling in the genre.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">I asked if I could help. She wondered how I could help since I never engaged in this lifestyle before. I told her she would be surprise how much I could contribute. Not only that, so could our mutual friend.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">She never asked how. Not sure if she didn’t want to know the answer or not. So be it. </span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">From then on, she picked our brains. Asking if this was right, would they feel this way or that. She did have a problem with position of body parts, since now there was an extra person in the relationship. We told her we could help her there too. WINK</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">I know a lot of you are asking if I’m jealous about the fact that my wife is writing all these threesome books.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">No, I find it sexy. I’m sure you find that odd too. But let me explain.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">I told you my wife uses me as her muse in all her stories. She also uses our mutual best friend. Since I know that when she writes a threesome book, she’s uses us as her inspiration, I don’t feel jealous at all. </span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">To tell you the truth, both of us are usually standing behind her as she writes, giving her tips, from a male’s perspective of course. </span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">She has written three threesome books so far and working on three others as of the writing of this post.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span style="font-size: large;">You still might find this strange. But if you knew the dynamics as you say of our relationship, you would see that it is very natural.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

</div>
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">I was surprised when they asked me to write
this, I mean, my skills as a writer don’t stand out and the amount of works I
made are few in numbers. Whatever, if they wish me to write a short text, then
I might as well make one.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">But… what to say? I’ve thought long and hard
about this question and I do think I managed to answer that question with
another: Why do I write?</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">That seems a decent subject to write about,
doesn’t it? Why do I write?</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">In the beginning I wrote to entertain. I
listened, no, I obeyed readers their wishes and wrote accordingly. No surprise
that I myself didn’t like it. I stopped listening to the few readers I chose,
for the most part anyway, and began to write in order to capture and draw out
emotion. I wanted to put myself on paper and make people laugh or cry or
anything really. I wanted the readers to feel more than sheer cold. I still do,
by the way, and get Very happy when someone says he or she cried during a sad
part of a story of mine, so far I’ve only heard it being said once though. You
know who you are.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">But something’s different now, I found a
reoccurring theme in my works: death. I wanted to write down death and all its
mysteries. I even tried to write about it without even realising.</span></span><br />
<span class="fwsanitized"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">I’ll admit I have a dear fondness for death and
I personally wish to die, I even tried to take my own life on several

<div class="MsoNormal">
By Dano</div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D3Olt1h5NIs/T5qlYs-sGeI/AAAAAAAAAEA/_QClUJIY3Vk/s1600/Dano2cavalier_Ls.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D3Olt1h5NIs/T5qlYs-sGeI/AAAAAAAAAEA/_QClUJIY3Vk/s320/Dano2cavalier_Ls.gif" width="294" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
My long-lived characters (because nothing except Gods are
truly immortal and I won't write a God) have all been ordinary people. They are
not kings or heroes or even particularly honorable, just people with simple
goals, human failings, and several or more lifetimes of experience to draw
from. Their minds have been exposed to multiple cultures for extended periods
of time, and have integrated into them. Mostly however, through their own
ingenuity, they have survived. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Vampires who murder,
like Mundanes who murder, are generally caught. The difference is that a
vampire won't get a fair trial. One has only to look at history to see this, as
many corpses were dug up as lately as the nineteenth century and 'staked' into
their coffins to keep them from wandering about at night. There was no more
evidence against them than an outbreak of illness shortly after their death.
Imagine if a tight knit society of that time were confronted with actual ex-sanguinated
corpses, mass hysteria would have ensued. To survive any length of time they
would have to have evaded detection throughout history, would remember, and
probably would not change their habits quickly. Even in a modern, open society
they would stay in the shadows.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
A long lived character
in any position of power would also be noticed after a few decades, let alone
centuries, unless he changed identities. One has only to look at the likes of
Dick Clark or George Burns to see this, Mr. Clark for his youthful appearance
and Mr. Burns for his longevity. (Both men have sadly passed, but what's up
with Bridgette Bardot?) They would not only have to integrate with changing
societies, but remain transparent to them. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I accomplish this by
placing my characters at the fringes of society where a little weirdness and
changing identity would be overlooked. They have occupations that require
travel, or anonymity, or both. In short, they appear as regular people with a
few odd habits until you get to know them. </div>

extremely rare half breed. The spawn of
an unworldly being and a Mayan slave girl, I was taken to the top of a pyramid

feared that the Mayan Warriors would surely put me to death if they ever
learned of my survival, I was hidden away and raised in secret. It wasn’t until
I reached adolescence that my eyes turned cerulean blue and I started to become
aware of just how different from others I truly was. Realizing that I could no
longer live amongst the Mayans for they would surely put me to death, I left in search of others like me – others
with an inner power so strong that a mere glance could cause death. Although I appear to be in my twenties, I

of so many talented storytellers come together and run wild to bring their
human brethren stories of love, adventure and turmoil. If you’ve ever wanted to fall in love with a

<span style="font-size: large;">My Journey As A Writer</span><br />
By Sapphire Lasair Criostal<br />

I have always been interested in writing and when I first came to RPW, my writing skills, were I have to say almost non existent. I knew what I wanted to write but getting it down correctly was another matter entirely. When I first began to write my story, it was quite often a hit and miss affair, but the help and guidance I received from everyone within RPW was amazing. Slowly I began to grow, to expand as a writer and I became more confident in what I produced. Looking back over my story I can see how much I have grown, and I am now at the point where I feel confident enough to offer one of my stories for possible publishing. I am also moving into areas of writing that I would never have even considered a few months back. I can with honesty say that if it wasn't for RPW giving me the opportunity to join them, I wouldn't be where I am today.<br />
<br />
I would like to pass on some advice I was given when I first joined RPW and was scared to write as I wasn't sure of my ability; Read..Read..Read. Read some of your favorite authors, see how they build their characters and stories. Use their words and ideas to help you create your own characters and weave your own stories, and before you know it you will be walking into a world where the only limit is your imagination...<br />
<br />
<i>Sapphire is a former character in the RP World line up who is currently writing the character story for publication. As soon as she has a book published we'll have her back to talk about it. </i><br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">The reality is much more than that. This article and the following interviews will concentrate on the second definition, but the first is also very much intertwined, even when role playing or RPing as it’s called is done just for fun, or taken more seriously. No two role playing groups are the same but all have similar characteristics. One of the necessary components is a vivid imagination. However, the kind of RPing done at RP World, RPW, further requires the ability to get those images or stories across to your reader. Strong writing skills are a must. But writing in a manner that’s different, 3 dimensional, as opposed to writing done when reading a story in a book. RPers become a living, breathing representation of the written work, for their fans; the character takes on life.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">RPing now is very different than it was even five years ago. Most people associate RPing with boardgames and computer games. And that’s where it probably had its first venture beyond a psychological technique or outside of an actor’s workshop. One of the most popular role playing games is Clue. Players are given a character, one is assigned the victim the other the killer and everyone else has to figure out whodunit. In more recent years one of the more popular and complicated RPing games is, Dungeons and Dragons and the blue print for most. Gamers would assume the role of a character in the game. A game master can establish a set of guidelines for that character, what he/she is capable of doing (magic wise), and have a set task to accomplish. Along the way they make friends, face challenges or obstacles they’d have to overcome. After each task they would: earn points, be given weapons in which to protect themselves, treasures that they would later need, or gain necessary strength, all to advance to a higher level within the game and/or capture the coveted prize. These were the original role players. Since that time things have changed dramatically. This type of role playing largely driven by board or video games or television shows still exist but what we do at RP World has gone beyond this. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">Moving beyond just gaming some RPing groups incorporated writing. Creating worlds along with the inhabitants and guidelines that rule the worlds. Still largely based on fantasy games or television shows. RPers take on pre-determined characters and storylines within the group and write the stories of events that take place within the parameters of the game based world. The more recent and popular form of RPing appears on Facebook, and changed that concept. On FB it has become more about writing story lines. Groups there portray entire published works, and group administrators or moderators approve or determine storylines and as well as the characters. RPers take on a character(s) of usually a popular author’s copyrighted work. The most popular books to RP are of course the paranormal/fantasy genres. The Black Dagger Brother series by J. R. Ward has more groups RPing that series online than any other. And that has led to some serious contention and cyber fights among the groups. </span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="background-color: #444444; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">The RPing on FB is different than RPing D&D. The RPer uses the published books as their bible. They essentially act out the characters in the book, along with storylines driven by events in the series for their FB fans. In order to do this they must be good writers and have read the books. And have a clear understanding of the character, as the author of the books has portrayed him/her, as well as the world the author has created. Fans are quick to point out any discrepancies. So these RPer are bound and limited in what they can or cannot do with these characters written by someone else. Also there are copyright issues involved. Not all of the RPers or groups are sanctioned or authorized to use the copyrighted work.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">RP World was created as a result of this friction and contention, and has taken RPing to the next level. We are developing a still different written art form. In our world the work and the character must be original. We place no limits on what you want to create. Even the world. The closest analogy would be to think in terms of an actor’s improv workshop where you are given a situation and have to take on a role. You act out the scene and create the dialog. Ex. You’re a woman trying to buy flowers in a flower shop, you’re not sure what kind of flowers you want, and the sales person is helping you. Now action. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">RPers in RP World can do that but in truth do much more. RPW doesn’t give the RPer the situation. They create their own original character, write a profile up on him/her and develop an original storyline around that character or characters, some create more than one within a storyline or SL. One RPer may be the author of the SL or can partner with others. The SL can be just a base outline of the people involved who’s with who, the powers, the protagonists, the villain(s), etc or it can be more complete. There are no limits. Then instead of bringing an oral and visual performance on stage to a live audience, the performance is written from the character’s perspective and performed on-line. In a manner, where fans can read along as each character involved with the SL writes and posts his/her lines. And the story is told over a series of posts. So it also becomes a soap opera of sorts because the character, unlike a story in a book that comes to an end, can have a continuing storyline. The only limits are those the RPer author puts on themselves.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">RP writing goes beyond publishing books for stories as we know them. Unlike stand alone books or a series, RPers bring the stories to life in an interactive way. The reader/fans have direct interaction with the characters whose stories they’ve read about. They can ask questions of the RPers and comment directly to them about the SLs or the characters. The RPers while on RPW never come out of character. That’s part of the fun.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">Unlike RPing that exist on FB and elsewhere, where it’s easier to have a pre-developed character and story already written for you to work off. Our RPers have to come up with their own. Even published authors have trouble with RPing. There’s a lot more interaction with others and writing for many published authors tends to be solitary. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="background-color: #444444; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444; font-size: large;">Some of the work is written in advance, pre-written. The RPers involved in a particular part of a SL might have a guideline they agree upon for a scene and each person writes their parts and they all go over it and tweak it as needed. Working off each other’s scenes to create the whole. Then when it’s time to post they post those pre-written scenes. Because of time constraints this type of posting goes much faster and will take a shorter period of time to post. The other type and much harder to do option, yet most RPers do very well, is the off the cuff. Live SLs without any pre-writing. This is where your reading and writing skills really come to the fore. You must know your character and understand the storyline. This also takes much longer to post because the RPer is creating the scene live. She/he writes it then posts it. You can’t rush creativity.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #444444;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">While anyone who loves a story can RP, not all RPers can make the transition to creating original work. Even though they are usually excellent writers, as long as they have a guideline to follow that someone else gives them. But creating their own? Some are lost or terrified of the responsibility of crafting an original story. But the beauty and strength of RPing at RPW is that the RPer finally has control to bring their own visions of characters to life.</span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
